Chess Theory - Overview
Chess Theory is the result of the scientific examination of the different phases of a chess game. Normally authors use games from past tournaments and matches and analyze them to get an evaluation of a specific opening line or endgame type. Chess Theory is constantly changing, as because of the complexity of the game these evaluations are often improved or there are new lines more fashionable.
We provide here articles for:
- Chess Opening Theory
( we will concentrate here on the French Defence )
- Chess Strategy
( including topics like pawn structures, pawn majorities, passed pawns, positional sacrifices, unbalanced piece constallations, etc. ) - Chess Tactics
( 2000 tactical positions, King attacks, exchange sacrifices) - Chess Endgame
( pawn endgames, rook endgames, bishop vs. knight endgames, etc.)
The idea of this section is to provide material for players who want to improve their results. The theory will be also linked to our annotated games in order to categorize these games and show example from practical play.
